In deepest darkest East Dulwich, there is a small oasis of green.

A wildlife garden that was previously a council depot.

On a sunny day I wandered by and saw frogs as far as the eye could see.

They were croaking, floating, climbing all over each other.  I spied a newt as well.

Like the frogs I was happy to see the sun. It feels like Spring has taken a long time to arrive this year.

It’s a good sign of a healthy ecosystem when there are lots of frogs about. They’re very sensitive to environmental hazards. I wish we had lots of frogs in our garden; instead we get snakes!

Oh my goodness, snakes would do me in! You have to be very brave. I love the frogs and toads that are about at the minute in my local area. So nice to see.
